Regional Planning and Growth Management

A seasoned, and effective advocate must be aware of local and regional plans impacting local ecosystems. In our region, regional growth management addresses planning issues that transcend the political boundaries of cities and counties. Regional land-use and transportation planning govern how and where development occurs or does not occur. Transportation planning impacts flows of water and wildlife as well as people and goods across our region.

Regional natural resource planning for parks, natural areas and watersheds is a critical complement land-use and transportation planning by actively protecting and restoring our local ecosystems and providing access to nature as we grow.
